Blaenmelindwr Frongoch
The Association's nine lakes are all within ten miles of Aberystwyth:-
TRISANT LAKES
v Rhosrhydd is a productive brown trout fishery that is trickle-stocked.
Anglers must use the car park provided which is 200 metres from the lake.
Anglers seeking seriously big brown trout should try either Rhosrhydd
or Oerfa. Morning and evening rises are the most productive. Fly fishing
only. Two boats available for boat permit holders.

v Glandwgan has a large head of 10-16oz. brown trout with the occasional
bigger fish. It is 600 metres from Rhosrhydd along a farm track. Anglers must
leave their vehicles in the car park at Rhosrhydd. Noted for its dry fly fishing
when the coch-y-bonddu are in season. Two boats available for boat permit
holders. Fly, spinning and worm fishing allowed.
v Frongoch is reserved exclusively for occupants of the Association’s two
caravans on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Other permit holders
can only fish on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Roadside parking is
available and makes the fishery suitable for anglers seeking ease of access.
Three boats available for boat permit holders. Brown and rainbow trout.
Imitative patterns and lures equally effective. Top performing lake in 2005.
Trickle-stocked. Fly fishing only.

PENRHYNCOCH LAKES
v Rhosgoch is a brown trout fishery and trickle-stocked with trout up to 1.5lbs
in weight. It is a short uphill walk from the road through frequently boggy ground.
A picturesque lake which fishes well, particularly in the evening. Dries
and nymphs recommended. Only fly fishing is allowed.
v Blaenmelindwr has wild brown trout. Heavily weeded in places. In 2007 the Forestry cut back all the trees on one bank providing easy access to previously unfished parts of the lake. Results already in April 2008 suggest this will be a highly productive fishery for the forseeable future. Fly, spinning and worm fishing allowed. Located alongside a road, this lake is ideal for senior citizens or disabled anglers requiring easy access and obstacle-free fishing.

v Syfydrin is just under a mile north of Llyn Pendam and Llyn Blaenmelindwr
and can be reached by tracks from both lakes. " A real gem that many anglers overlook. The fish are hard to fool, there are no stockies and you need to use small flies and be quick on the strike. Admire the scenery and you'll miss the take. This is REAL fishing", Chas Webb.
Chas recommends for point flies Butcher, Peter Ross or Alexandra ; middle dropper-Black and Peacock, Black Pennel, PTN; top dropper- and bushy fly to create a wake. All flies in size 12/14 or smaller.
Vehicle access ends a mile from the lake and anglers need to continue on foot. Fly, spinning and worm fishing allowed. It has a good head of wild brown trout and the lake is well known for its evening sedge rise.
v Craig-y-Pistyll is a lake you should visit if you want to fish for natural brown
trout in an area of natural beauty and seclusion. It lies 300 metres above
sea level with two miles of bank fishing. Due to its inaccessability
it is lightly fished although it does contain a good head of trout around
10-12 inches as well as the odd specimen up to 2lb. Fly, spinning and
worm fishing allowed.

LLYN OERFA

Pronounced Oirva in Welsh and means "cold place"-you have been warned! Roadside parking is available and the lake is suitable for anglers requiring ease of access.
It is a popular brown trout fishery with fish up to 6lbs being taken. Trickle-
stocking takes place. Fly, spinning and worm fishing allowed.
LLYN LLYGAD RHEIDOL
Wild brown trout. Fly, spinning and worm fishing allowed.
Detailed directions to all lakes are provided with the Permit.
