Llyn Frongoch The Site Of Our Caravans
Stay in one of our two modern caravans on Llyn Frongoch in unspoilt beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The occupiers of the two caravans have exclusive fishing for four days each week! See below for availability.
So, what do you get for your money?
Well to start with, you will be situated right in the middle of a quiet, peaceful area of outstanding natural beauty, ten miles from the seaside town of Aberystwyth which has a plethora of restaurants and cafes to cater for every need, though if you are a shopaholic, you may be disappointed! You are in an ideal area for hill-walking, bird-watching, mountain biking, pony trekking or just relaxing on the beach.
Our sea trout, salmon rivers and the other eight lakes (similarly situated in beautiful countryside) are only a short drive away. For four days out of seven, (Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays), Frongoch Lake (where you will be staying), which is stocked with Rainbow trout and carries a good head of Brown trout, fishing is restricted to the occupiers of the two caravans on the lake. Not even the locals can fish then! You have exclusive use of the boats on these days too! You can of course fish on the other days of the week with the local anglers.
Weekly fishing permits are available to caravan occupiers at 70% of the visitor prices. Discounted season permits are only available to caravan occupiers staying for a minimum of any two weeks during the fishing season.
The other lakes and the rivers can of course be fished by all permit holders during the prescribed season. Should you wish to try fly fishing for bass, then we are close to two of the UK's finest marks, the mouths of the Dyfi and Dysynni Estuaries.
The Accomodation (See photos below)
Both caravans are modern, two-bedroomed caravans capable of sleeping up to six (by utilising the sofa bed) and each has its own parking area and a boat to fish from. They are equipped with showers and internal toilets, are connected to mains electricity and water. Gas is free for heating and cooking but electricity is charged by coin meter. How much does all this cost? From as little as £22 a day (based on four people sharing a caravan) including accommodation, fishing and use of a boat (see also permit charges page).
Wonder up and down the road using Google Maps to see the caravans, the lake and the beautiful countryside around them. Click here for Fronyllyn, and here for Geryllyn. The postcode for the caravans is SY23 4RL.
